Panel on Financial Planning

A panel at VCFA, focused on the importance of women building their financial IQ. The goal was to ensure attendees left with a personal finance to-do list including topics like retirement planning, debt management, and strategic philanthropic planning. Our idea was that every woman should know where she stands financially, and how to get to where she wants to be, irrespective of relationship status (meaning, separate and apart from their spouse or partner).  Jessica Holmes, Middlebury College Professor of Economics and Green Mountain Care Board Member, once again agreed to facilitate. Our impressive line-up of expert panelists included: Priscilla Gilbert, President, CenterPoint Financial, Inc.; Jeanne Blackmore, Shareholder, Gravel & Shea; Martha Trombley Oakes, Senior Philanthropic Advisor, Vermont Community Foundation; and Liz Scharf, Savings & Credit Program Coordinator, Capstone Community Action. Following the panel discussion we had a networking happy hour at Café Anna.  The space was generously donated by VCFA and the event was sponsored by the Necrason Group.
